My first giveaway

I am so excited to have my first giveaway on my blog. I love Jennifer Chiaverini's books and I have read all of them. Her publisher so kindly sent me a copy of the giving quilt and pins to give to one of my readers. If you would like a chance to win this book simply leave me a comment telling me if you have read any of Jennifer's books.
I will choose the winner by a random number and contact that person by e mail and send them the book and pins. What could be easier?

More blocks pieced

Retreat was in February... I just now unpacked my partial blocks. I had three of twelve left to finish. I love the color combination in these blocks!! I definitely need more time to sew to get accomplished what is on my goal list this year!

Quilt retreat

I am so excited to be going to quilt retreat with some of my best friends next weekend. Friday can not arrive soon enough! I cut two kits this weekend. One is called nevermore based on the raven poem. It is for my daughter who adores ravens and Poe. This quilt is perfect for Halloween.

One block done

I finished this block for a quilting buddy of mine can't wait to see the finished quilt!!
Feels good to get things done however I am getting more home projects done than sewing. I re grouted some tiles and re screened a window. Need to balance sewing and working on the house!

I love scrappy quilts

I finished a quilt today. It has been a really long time since I actually finished a quilt.
I had the yellow fabric with the roses. The rest of the fabric was a swap of scraps with two of my good friends. I started this quilt over a year ago but I quilted this one myself!! Now if the weather would just turn colder ready to snuggle under this one.

Wow it's been a while

It has been a really long time since I have posted. My latest project was inspired by Bonnie Hunter. I saw her Christmas color hexagon quilt and went ga ga over it. Here is a picture of her quilt. I am working on reproducing her design with modification to the border.
I know it will take a long time to complete but am carrying it with me everywhere so if I have five minutes to sew I can work on it. Will post pics of progress!
